Women in Medicine® is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit built to position women in healthcare to lead, not fix them to fit in.

Women in Medicine® is the national home for women in healthcare, building the CONTINUUM from med student to senior leader through community and education. 

Women in medicine face a leadership gap that talent alone doesn't close. Despite making up the majority of medical students today, women remain underrepresented in the roles that shape healthcare, from department chairs to hospital boards to the policies that govern patient care. Women in Medicine® is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that exists to close that gap, not by fixing women, but by positioning them to lead.

We do this through three strategic pillars: DEVELOPING LEADERS, where we build the skills, networks, and visibility women need to advance; DRIVING RESEARCH, where we study what actually works and share it with the field; and STRENGTHENING THE FIELD, where we partner with healthcare organizations and institutions to change the systems women are navigating.

None of this happens without donor support. As a nonprofit, we rely on contributions to keep our programs accessible and affordable for women from every part of the country, urban to rural, so that geography and resources never determine who gets to lead. Your gift helps position the current and next generation of healthcare leadership, and strengthens patient care for all of us in the process.
